AAM: K-12 Curators: What Do Kids Learn by Making Exhibitions?
Panel:
-

On April 27th, 2006, at the Annual American Association
of Museums Conference in Boston, Linda, Marie, and
Christi shared information about their programs;
each of which involves students in exhibition design
and development. With the great need for K-12 students
to develop academic and workplace skills, each program
highlighted how exhibition development and design
can provide powerful training. The comprehensive
process of exhibit development addresses many student
learning goals ranging from research, writing, and
design, to problem solving, communication, and teamwork.
As a panel, Linda, Marie, and Christi examined this
innovative instructional strategy in two different
environments: the school classroom and the museum
gallery. |
